Walk to school
As part of Active School Week, why not walk to school? On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning you can meet up with your friends and walk to school. There are two different points to meet at: Innisfails GAA club, and St Nicholas of Myra church. You can get dropped off there and walk the rest of the way. Each group will leave at 8.30, so get your walking shoes ready!

Orienteering
We have been doing some great work over the last couple of weeks on the Orienteering and Outdoor Adventure strand of PE. We have been making a map of our classroom, following trails from maps around a course, and today we were using photos to help us find some cards hidden around the yard. We then had to fill in a symbol on a control card every time we found a card. There were four groups, we worked very well together and had great fun doing it too!

Parents help needed
Dear parents,
Next week in the school our Active School Week will be taking
place, as part of our efforts to achieve the Active Flag for our school this
year. A number of fun events will take place which will be aimed at getting the
children on their feet. It is important to get parents involved in this week,
as this is one of the aims of the Active Flag. As a result I am asking for
volunteers to assist in two events next week. As we are in school for only
three days next week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) it is not a huge
commitment. Firstly, we need parents to supervise 10 minutes activity each
morning in the yard (8.50 – 9.00). Secondly, we are trying to encourage
children to walk to school next week where possible. There will be two drop off
points, one at Innisfails GAA club entrance and the other at St Nicholas of
Myra church. The aim is for children to be dropped off at these points by 8.30
and then to walk as a group to the school. Therefore, I am looking for a few
volunteers to accompany the children from each of these points each morning. If
you are in a position to help out with either of these events, please let me
know as soon as you can.
For
more information about Active School Week, see our blog http://kinsealynsactiveschoolflag.blogspot.ie/
or

Looking forward to your assistance,
Mr Kennedy

Soccer blitz
Mr Fahy's lunchtime soccer blitz has kicked off recently and has been a great hit. Each team has four players from Third to Sixth class and the matches take place at lunchtime. The matches are keenly contested and everyone is really enjoying taking part. The spectators seem to be enjoying themselves as well, judging by the crowds looking on through the fence!
