2nd May 2014:
Junior football:
In our final match in the Fingal League, we played Burrow NS from Sutton on our home pitch. We had 21 players in our squad, which was great to see and shows how enthusiastic everybody is. Burrow got off to a good start playing up the hill, and quickly had 3 goals and a point on the scoreboard. Slowly we began to play our way back into the match, however, and with Conor playing well at midfield and getting some scores, we were doing well. Just before half time Burrow got some more scores to put them ahead at half time.
We came out in the second half determined to give our supporters something to shout about. Cillian and Alex were linking up well at midfield and were also chipping in with some scores. This brought us right back into the game, and with our backs holding tight, Kaylem especially, we were right back in the match. Unfortunately we just ran out of time and luck to get the scores we needed.
I don't usually single out anyone but a special mention must go to Lorcan in goal, I lost count of the amount of saves he made, particularly in the first half, to keep us in the match. His kickouts were also excellent. Stephen Cluxton watch out!
A big well done to everybody who took part this year and make sure to keep up the practice outside school with your club or with your friends.

Junior football update:
Here is a report from our second match.
Milverton 4-9 Kinsealy 2-3
In the second match of our Junior Football league, we travelled out to the Man O War grounds for a match against Milverton. Instead of the normal 9 a side, their manager suggested we play 13 a side, which was great as it meant that everybody got to play for the full match.
Milverton were a little quicker out of the blocks than us and had built a good lead before Conor managed to score a point for us a few minutes before half time. The wind was blowing across the pitch but Milverton seemed to be able to cope better than us, making strong driving runs right at our defence and causing us a few problems. Having said that, our backs Cathal, Tristan and Ryan, and goalkeeper Lorcan, put in a great half of blocking and tackling.
Although we were down at half time, we knew we were beginning to play well, and felt we could push on again in the second half. And so it proved. We started to get on top in midfield with Aaron and Ty, and Conor and Alex were linking up well together, and getting a few scores as well. Our forwards such as Cian and Kevish started to see more of the ball and Leah, Caitlin and Emma were doing great work.
We were on top in the second half and could have had a few more scores. Conor got the last score of the match when he scored a goal from a penalty and when the whistle went we had won the second half 2-2 to 1-3. This showed our determination and never give up attitude.
Next match is against Holywell on Thursday afternoon at 2pm.
Junior football:
Report from our 1st match.
Our junior football team had their first match in the Fingal Schools League on Tuesday afternoon. Everyone had been training hard each Monday for the last couple of months, and were really looking forward to our first match. The match was at home against one of our local schools, Belmayne.
For some of the boys and girls, it was their first time playing together as a team, and as a result it took us a little while to get going in the first half. Belmayne were quick out of the blocks and, with a strong pairing in midfield, began to build up a good score. Despite this, our backline was putting in a super display of tackling and blocking, and Aaron, Cathal and Sadhbh can be proud of themselves.
We made a few changes as we went along and the second half was a much different game. We got on top in midfield and started to get on the scoreboard, with goals from Alex (2), Kevish (2) and Kaylem. Lorcan was also doing well with his kickouts. However, although we matched them goal for goal, Belmayne were just a bit better at taking their points and in the end they came out the winners.
We have a very enthusiastic panel of players and we look forward to our next match against Holywell on Thursday

The senior team have been doing fantastically well over the last few weeks and as a result have managed to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition. There are reports on each game up on the school website, click here for details http://kinsealyns.scoilnet.ie/blog/. Well done to Miss McNamara and the team for all the hard work they are putting in, it is really paying off.
The junior team have their first matches of the league next week, against Belmayne at home on Tuesday and Holywell away on Thursday. No pressure guys!
7th March 2014:
The school senior football team got their season off with a bang last week with two matches in a week. We lost the first match against Bellewstown up in Innisfails, but we recovered to get our first win of the campaign against Man O War away. This was a great result and we look forward to more from this team. Here are a few nice photos from Peter at gaapics.com
