News

3rd February:

Gaelic football training starts today after school with Miss McNamara and Mr Kennedy from 2.30 - 3.30 in the field. This will continue every Monday with the leagues for both senior and junior teams expected to start soon. Hope to see you all there!

Gymnastics month:

In February we will be focusing on gymnastics as part of our PE lessons. This an exciting and fun strand of the curriculum and we hope that everyone gets some fun out of it.

26th November:

We have been pushing on with dance in PE this month, and we are now coming to an end. Here are some photos of Second and Third class doing an animal dance based upon Noah's Ark. See if you can guess what animal they are!

25th November:

Looked like another great basketball session after school today, and everybody seems to be enjoying themselves which is the most important thing.

The after school basketball with Miss McNamara and Miss Walshe got off to a great start today by the looks of things! Looks like fun, looking forward to seeing more skills on show over the next few weeks.

13th November:

This month in PE we are focusing on the strand of dance. We have been learning how to do The Ping Pong Dance, and how to use our bodies to make lots of different shapes and movements. Here's a few photos of Second and Third Class in action:

12th November:

On Friday we went on our annual school sponsored walk, and this took place around the grounds of nearby Teagasc. The whole school gets involved in this fantastic activity, and it was great to see young and old pupils out enjoying the fresh air and getting some energetic exercise. Mr Fahy set a terrific pace at the front, and we certainly all benefitted. Well done to all and don't forget to get out walking yourselves at home whenever you get the chance.

Basketball

The first of our after school activities is kicking off this month. Miss McNamara and Miss Walshe are running basketball for Fifth and Sixth class. The first session will be on Thursday next week after school (14th November) and will be on Mondays after that. Can't wait to see everyone shooting some hoops!
